Return to study one day online workshop
Our short courses, study days and masterclasses are offered for post-registration nurses, midwives and allied health professionals as “bite size” modes of study that can flexibly meet your professional needs. They do not carry any academic credits but you will receive a certificate of attendance for your revalidation portfolios.
If you are contemplating commencing academic study at degree level (Level 6) or MSc Level (Level 7) as CPD which can consists of either undertaking an academic module or commencing a BSc “Top up” degree, then look no further!
The Â鶹ӰԺ post-reg academic team are holding online “Return to Academic Study” Workshops for staff who wish to update their study skills at level 6 or 7.
The study workshop will be interactive and will include:
- Undertaking a Literature Search
- Academic Referencing
- Structural writing guidance and techniques
- Helpful hints and tips for Level 6 or Level 7 study
Fees and funding
Those working in the NHS may be eligible for funding through Workforce Development Funding with their employer
Entry criteria
- Nursing students must have a registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council
- Non-nursing students must have an effective registration with an appropriate UK Professional Regulatory Statutory body (PRSB) in health care.
- Nursing students outside of the UK must have a registration with their national PSRB
Teaching and assessment
We adopt a range of teaching and learning strategies. You will be encouraged to develop a critical, evaluative approach to the knowledge which underpins health and professional practice.
Strategies include:
- Teacher-led sessions
- Student-led seminars and presentations
- Discussions and tutorials
- Independent study
- Focused reflection
- A range of experiential teaching methods
