A night of celebrations at the Â鶹ӰԺ Sport Awards


The annual Â鶹ӰԺ Sport Awards took place on Wednesday 24 April, celebrating the sporting achievements of teams and individuals over the last year. 

The celebration recognised the accomplishments and contributions of the university's sporting clubs and active volunteers.

Winners were selected for their community impact, dedication and commitment to their sport and committee, creating and maintaining a positive, inclusive community for all, outstanding practice, commitment and energy and more. 

The night was expertly hosted by Sport Project Coordinator and Basketball coach, Emilie Fairnington and Sport Communications and Workforce Officer, Rochelle Gough.

  • Community Club of the Year: Men’s Rugby 

  • Sports Team of the Year: Futsal Men’s 1st 

  • Committee of the Year: Hockey 

  • Coach of the Year: Adam Bessadi 

  • Sportsperson of the Year: Christos Kitsiou 

  • Inclusive Club of the Year: Trampolining and Archery 

  • Volunteer of the Year: Will Brown 

  • Most Improved Club of the Year: Climbing 

  • Club of the Year: Archery 

  • Â鶹ӰԺsport Champion of the Year: Nuno Fontes 

  • Special Recognition Award: Tidal Lynch 

  • Most Improved Team of the Year: Football Men’s 2nd 

  • Best Media Socials: Hockey 

  • Best Varsity Moment: Men’s Football 3rd 

  • Captivating Â鶹ӰԺsport Story: Hockey

  • Strength and Conditioning Team of The Year: Basketball Men’s 2nd
