Bench Fees

Some research programmes charge a bench fee in addition to tuition fees. Bench fees are charged where your research will incur specific additional costs. If you are made an offer of admission and a bench fee is applicable, it will be clearly stated on the offer letter. Bench fees are set by individual research institutes within faculties.

Alumni Discounts

Alumni discounts for the academic year commencing October 2025 are currently under review and not being awarded.

Additional Costs

In addition to tuition fees, you will also need to meet your living costs. This will include accommodation and other related costs such as food, household goods, travel and clothing etc. There may also be costs associated with your research programme such as stationery, books, travel and field trip expenses. It is important to have sufficient funding in place to meet all costs.

The continuation fee for full-time students is the part-time equivalent of what their particular full fee was, part-time students are charged the same fee as they were charged previously. Continuation fees are charged for a full 12-month academic period and are adjusted pro rata when the thesis is submitted.
