Yong Wang is a Marie Curie Fellow with the Centre of Computational Intelligence (CCI), School of Computer Science and Informatics, Â鶹ӰԺ, Leicester, UK. He is also an Associate Professor with the School of Information Science and Engineering, Central South University, Changsha 410083, China.

His current research interests include the theory, algorithm design and application of computational intelligence.

Research interests/expertise

He has a wide range of research interests related to computational intelligence, including:

1) Theory: how and why evolutionary algorithms work on optimization problems.

2) Algorithm design: evolutionary algorithms for different kinds of optimization problems, such as single-objective optimization problems, constrained optimization problems, multiobjective optimization problems, nonlinear equation systems, and multimodal optimization problems.

3) Application: computational intelligence for chemometrics, automotive lightweight design, wind farm layout, intelligent robots and systems, cloud computing, medical big data, etc.
