Personal profile

Mariasole obtained an undergraduate degree (BSc) and a Masters degree (MSc) in Sport and Exercise Science from the University of Bologna. In the same institution, she went on to complete a PhD in Exercise Physiology, focusing on the effects of endurance and interval training on cardiorespiratory and muscular parameters during exercise in healthy adults. After the PhD Mariasole worked as postdoctoral fellow at the University of Aberdeen on a BBSRC funded project investigating the effects of fish oil and resistance training on muscle mass and function in sarcopenic older people. Subsequently, she worked as KTP Research Associate at the University of Derby, before joining Â鶹ӰԺ in 2017 as Lecturer in Biomedical Science.
