Personal profile

Daniella Nudd prevously worked for the Probation Service in Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire for 18 years. She has experience as a Probation Officer and Senior Probation Officer in sentence management settings.

Daniella worked for Derbyshire Probation Trust prior to the implementation of Transforming Rehabilitation (TR). Following TR and in 2015, Daniella was assigned to work for Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire and Rutland Community Rehabilitation Company (DLNR CRC) Here she worked predominantly in Nottingham City, co-managing the generic sentence management team. Here the service user profile was mixed with all the complexities of an inner-city caseload.

This pathway provides a learning provision for students aspiring to become Probation Officers (levels 4 and 5), as well as students already embarked upon the qualification programme (level 6).

Daniella’s primary responsibility is module leader for the Offender Management Approaches and Interventions module (level 6). This module focuses upon the effectiveness of the evidence base underpinning current sentence management practices, including cognitive behavioural and desistance-based approaches. Daniella is also module leader for the Penal Policy and Punishment of Offenders module (level 5). This module focuses provides an overview of the penal system and critically examines the various philosophies underpinning sentencing decisions.
