Personal profile

Dr Angela Davies is a lecturer in textile technology/garment technology, she has a BSc (Hons) in Clothing Design and Production and a PhD in technical textiles. Her PhD focused on the development of reusable incontinence products for residential and hospital use, which provides her with a wealth of expertise in the development of medical textiles, requiring high temperature laundering for infection control.

Dr Davies has been principal and co-investigator on a number of regionally and European funded projects, working with technical textile and pharmaceutical SMEs and larger enterprises to support the development of new products and processes. In addition, Dr Davies has two years' experience working in Â鶹ӰԺ's Knowledge Exchange team, which has given her considerable experience of understanding the management and development of collaborative projects from a commercial and academic perspective.

Her research interests include medical/ healthcare textiles, performance textiles, wearable technologies and product performance.
